In 2018, 547 Arkansans died by suicide. That is more than double the rate of homicides that occurred that year. The Arkansas Department of Health has been designated by the Arkansas General Assembly as the state agency in charge of suicide prevention in order to combat this issue. While the program is not a crisis center or hotline, we are here to promote the right programs for your particular needs. The ADH Suicide Prevention Program is working to provide educational programs that encourage people from all walks of life to become knowledgeable about suicide prevention.
If you would like more information about any of these educational programs, such as how to schedule one in your area, please call 501-683-0707.
If you are in crisis now, please call 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
If you are a veteran in crisis please call 800-273-8255 and Press 1 or click here.
